Mineral Exploration
Mineral exploration in Yukon has a long history of discoveries starting with the Klondike Gold Rush in 1898. The latest discoveries to spur rushes include the Finlayson Lake massive sulphide District in 1993 and the White Gold District in 2009. Historically the exploration season in the north has been short, approximately three months. Modern exploration has extended the season but do the math and you realize that the amount of time explorationists have spent on the ground in Yukon is short. More time and more exploration will undoubtedly result in more discoveries.
