Silver occurrences that are related to intrusive and volcanic rocks and associated fault systems consist of vein, breccia, stockwork and greisen deposits. Silver also occurs in precious-metal volcanic-hosted massive sulphide, SEDEX and carbonate replacement deposits in Yukon.
Paleozoic strata host silver-bearing volcanic-hosted massive sulphide occurrences in the Finlayson Lake District (Wolverine) and silver-bearing SEDEX deposits (e.g., Tom and Jason deposits, Macmillan Pass) in Selwyn Basin.
Widespread mid-Cretaceous intrusions are linked to silver-rich polymetallic vein deposits (e.g., Keno Hill District deposits), epithermal vein/breccia deposits (e.g., Brown-McDade in the Dawson Range) and silver-lead+/-gold mantos (Ketza deposit in central Yukon).
Early Tertiary epithermal gold-silver-copper (Mount Skukum) and mesothermal gold-silver vein (Skukum Creek) deposits occur in the Wheaton River valley in south Yukon.
