Robert E. Leckie Award for Outstanding Mining Reclamation Practices award was created in 1999 as a tribute to Robert E. Leckie, a mining inspector from Mayo who passed away
November 1999.
Robert was an innovator who promoted planned reclamation, research and cooperation benefiting both government and industry.
The award is presented annually at the Yukon Geoscience Forum to a worthy quartz and placer exploration/mining operation for exceptional reclamation and restoration efforts.
